Hotel: Su Gologone Experience Hotel
The ride: The scenery around Capo Carbonara and Villasimius is pure Mediterranean drama softened by calm, luminous beauty. Powder-white sand curves gently into crystal-clear turquoise and aquamarine waters, shifting in color with the light and shallow enough to reveal rippled seabeds and schools of fish below. Granite headlands and smooth, wind-shaped rocks frame quiet coves, while offshore islets sit like sentinels in the sea, untouched and wild.
Inland, the landscape turns scrubby and fragrant—juniper, myrtle, wild rosemary, and low macchia perfuming the air—giving way to rolling hills with open views back toward the coastline. Flamingos often wade in nearby salt ponds, and the entire area feels protected, unspoiled, and intentionally slow. It’s a place where mountains, sea, and sky meet in soft contrast, offering a rare sense of openness and calm that feels worlds away from the busy Mediterranean hotspots.
Optional Post Ride Experiences:
Choose one or simply unwind—each option is designed to restore, not exhaust:
Guided sea swim in calm, crystal-clear coves within the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area
Coastal kayak along granite headlands and hidden beaches accessible only from the water
Sunset coastal hike with sweeping views over turquoise bays and offshore islets
Salt-pond nature walk through protected wetlands with frequent flamingo sightings
Cliffside breathing, mindfulness & gentle yoga overlooking the sea—grounding, calming, and deeply Sardinian

Blue Zone Highlights
The day begins with a short morning transfer to the ride start, easing into Sardinia’s rugged interior. The ride from Tortolì into Nuoro and Mamoiada showcases eastern Sardinia’s striking contrast—from open coastal landscapes to the rugged heart of the island. Leaving the coast, gentle countryside and rolling terrain gradually give way to rockier hills and high plateaus, signaling the transition inland.
As we approach Nuoro and Mamoiada, the landscape becomes stark and powerful—stone villages, grazing land, and dramatic ridgelines defining Sardinia’s interior. Mamoiada, rich in tradition and identity, offers a glimpse into Blue Zone life, where resilience, community, and daily movement shape a steady, purposeful rhythm deeply tied to place.
After the ride, we slow the pace with a walk through Mamoiada’s historic village streets, followed by a local Cannonau wine experience rooted in Blue Zone tradition. We learn about rustic breads, local cheeses, and seasonal dishes, simple foods that reflect the region’s mountain culture and deep connection to the land.
After checking into the hotel and taking time to rest, we head to Tortolì for an evening on the water, discovering the dramatic coastal grottos, including the famous Grotta della Suora (Nun Grotto). From the boat, limestone cliffs and hidden caves reveal Sardinia’s wild shoreline, with calm waters and soft evening light creating a memorable contrast to the day’s ride through the interior.

Hotel: Su Lithu Country Boutique Hotel
Gennargentu National Park → Tortolì | Blue Zone Highlights
The day begins with a short morning transfer to the ride start, easing into Sardinia’s rugged interior. From here, guests choose between two ride options:
A more rigorous mountain route through Gennargentu National Park, climbing into the heart of the Blue Zone with quiet roads, limestone peaks, high plateaus, and sweeping views across Sardinia’s wild interior.
A shorter option that begins higher in the mountains, capturing the essence of the landscape before descending toward the coast.
Both routes converge as the scenery softens on the approach to Tortolì, where mountain culture gives way to open fields, olive groves, and a hint of sea air. The ride concludes to Su Gologone Experience Hotel, an iconic retreat set beneath limestone mountains—perfectly placed for rest, reflection, and a deep sense of place in the heart of the Blue Zone.
Evening: Dinner

Hotel: Su Lithu Country Boutique Hotel
Riding in the Bitti region reveals a quieter, more intimate side of Sardinia—raw, pastoral, and deeply rooted in Blue Zone tradition. The route follows peaceful backroads through rolling highlands, granite outcrops, open grazing land, and wide valleys, where shepherds, sheep, and stone farmhouses shape the landscape. Long, steady sections encourage a comfortable rhythm, with expansive views across valleys and distant ridgelines that create a strong sense of space and stillness.
The day ends at Su Lithu Country Boutique Hotel, a warm and character-filled retreat set in the countryside. Surrounded by stone walls, gardens, and open skies, the hotel reflects the region’s rural heritage and unhurried pace—a place to relax, share stories, and enjoy local flavors in a setting that feels authentic, grounded, and unmistakably Sardinian.
-
Hotel: Cascioni Eco Retreat
Our final ride from Su Lithu Country Boutique Hotel to Cascioni Eco Retreat is a fitting close to the journey—quiet, scenic, and deeply connected to the land. The route follows peaceful backroads through Sardinia’s interior, weaving past open countryside, stone farmsteads, and rolling hills that invite a relaxed, reflective rhythm. With long views across valleys and ridgelines, the ride encourages one last moment to settle into the island’s unhurried pace.
Arriving at Cascioni Eco Retreat, the landscape feels intentionally calm and grounded. Surrounded by nature and open space, the retreat offers a sense of arrival rather than an ending—
The late afternoon we will gather to head to Porto Cervo. Porto Cervo is the lively heart of Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda, set around a marina of emerald-blue water and smooth granite hills. Elegant piazzas, cafés, and boutiques line the harbor, creating a polished yet relaxed coastal energy. It’s a vibrant contrast to the island’s interior—sunlit, social, and celebratory, with crystal-clear coves just beyond the town.
-
Meals: Breakfast
Following breakfast, complimentary airport transfers will be provided to OlbiaFor participants choosing to stay an additional day in Sardinia, we’re excited to offer a bonus experience—an excursion to a nearby island within the La Maddalena Archipelago. This optional experience will conclude around 4:00 PM. Lodging and meals for this day is not included, but we will transfer all participants to a hotel in Olbia to allow for an easy and convenient departure from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport the following day.
